Dreams into reality.
HELLO!
My name is Emiliano Villa and I’m a superstar. My biggest inspiration is Barbie because she can do anything and so can I. I’m a model, journalist, dancer, stylist, producer — depends who’s asking.
I just hit a month of living full-time in New York City — and it’s been sticky and steamy seemingly everywhere I go. Dance training, photoshoots, parties, another club, next place — you already know the rest. I’m here to chase my dreams, no other way to put it. To say yes to every new adventure because nowhere else in the world has the opportunities that I can have here. It’s already paying off.
This will be where I post my inner musings and memories. I’m a writer, so I’m always jotting down my thoughts however I can. But I’m a writer, so I never put them out. They stay locked away, little shiny gems to cherish in the dark until I feel like they’re good enough to share. But my life is a movie forreal and I want y’all to see it.
I can’t trust my brain to remember everything so I’ve made it my New York Resolution to record as much as I can. I’m filling up journals about my days and my new ideas. My point-and-shoot camera is tied to my belt loop at every party. Standing on the subway platform can be a chance to catch up with myself and reflect. I’m the person who’s most inspired while I’m moving and that seems to be all I do around here, so my creative gears are absolutely going full-throttle. More to come soon :)
I flew into NYC on June 1st and immediately set out on my agenda — absorb and indulge in everything the city has to offer. I chose June for my move so that I could be here for Pride — and basically used it as a deadline to get my life together in less than 30 days. I can’t be stressing at the parties so make it happen and make it happen quickly. And I did! Pride was truly a celebration.
I keep seeing this double-sided, tagged-up delivery truck. One side reads, “New York is the end of your past and place of rebirth.” The other — “I’m aiming so high I keep forgetting I’m already living my dream.” The mood board is coming to life.
These statements sum up my time here so far. I moved to New York to leave behind the person I was and start a new life. I want to grow into the next version of me — quickly. To force myself to be uncomfortable and to think fast. Cuz like if you can make it in New York, you can make it anywhere right? Have you seen the Katseye show? I’m putting myself through that kinda pop star training. I’ll talk to you later xx
Luv,
Emiliano
